A striking matched pair of genuine petrified wood bookends, beautifully cut and polished to reveal the remarkable natural grain, mineral coloration, and organic patterns preserved within the fossilized wood.

These are especially substantial examples, weighing approximately 6 pounds 11 ounces as a pair. Each piece measures approximately 5" tall × 4" wide × 2⅜" thick, giving them enough weight and presence to function beautifully as actual bookends while also making impressive natural-history display specimens.

The polished faces reveal beautiful variations of warm earth tones and mineral coloration, contrasted by the rugged natural exterior. The effect is particularly striking in person, where the depth, pattern and polish are much more apparent.

Because petrified wood is created as minerals gradually replace the original organic material, every piece is completely unique. These two pieces have been cut as a complementary pair, preserving the visual relationship between the two halves.
